Thanks to Credo team member Ana Goessens for sharing this awesome news:
Every year IDNext gives out the Identity Innovation Award to recognize and support new developments shaping digital identity’s future. Submissions are global and can be innovative concepts, products, or projects. This year the Credo framework, a growth project under the Open Wallet Foundation, became the 12th-ever winner of the award. Timo Glastra, one of the project’s most prominent contributors and maintainers, was there to collect the award on behalf of the Credo community.
The community was nominated for its efforts in 2024 which include several projects to increase EU interoperability.
- Make Credo compliant with EU Architecture Reference Framework (ARF)
- Make Credo compliant with High Assurance Interop Profile (HAIP)
- SPRIN-D (German Government) EUDI Wallet Prototype built on Credo
With the combination of Credo’s background supporting AnonCreds/DIDComm, and its new EU-oriented features to support SD-JWT VCs/OpenID4VC, Credo is now uniquely suited to build global digital identity solutions.
Most recently added to the framework:
- Mobile Driver’s License – mDL (ISO/IEC 18013-5) with proximity flows
- Selective Disclosure JWT Verifiable Credentials
- OpenID for Verifiable Credentials Support
- Mobile Secure Enclave (Hardware backed cryptography)
- High Assurance Interop Profile (HAIP) for interactors with high level of security and privacy
- X509 certificates and OpenID Federation
